It's hardly "All you need to game" without any RAM included.

Most people (myself included) would've been looking at this to refresh an older DDR3 system.

It would have made more sense if it was $100 less, that's roughly what the component parts cost (going on SEP prices) so it seems they took that and added $100 so they could cash in on these crazy prices.

Good idea subverted by what seems to be corporate greed.

That could still work for a Vega card, but I think the RX 580 cards are settling down enough that a bundle of "not quite the parts I would have chosen" seems unfortunate.

As the article points out, when the bundle was devised and the marketing/pricing prepared, it probably was good value. It's just that prices have moved sufficiently over the last couple of months that it isn't any more...

Re: AMD readies Combat Crates: CPU, mobo and GPU

I hope these things have a big warning label about the type of PSU you need to run this and that it requires to be in a case that will cool it properly! Otherwise there is a risk that people who know how things go together, but are not quite experienced enough to know some of the finer points of building a computer, will get hold of this and watch the whole thing go pop when they run a game.

You have to buy the Season Pass and first round of Loot Crates to get the RAM...
Backdoor deal AMD did with EA, y'see, in response to Nvidia force-branding other GPUs.

    Heh, did make me laugh

Now if this had been a decent X470 mobo, Vega 56, Ryzen 7 2700X for a decent price... however, where's the RAM required?

Oh for sure but I'd hoped that by putting "going on SEP prices" in brackets was enough to indicate i was talking about suggested prices for the components and not the crazy inflated prices.
