Don't want to take the thread anymore OT so I'll only make this one comment on the 2nd amendment, it isn't about the citizenry pushing back against the government it's about the states of the union doing so, yes it was intended to prevent a tyrannical government but it was between the states of the union (arguably the people as they make up each individual state) and the federal government.
It's basically the equivalent of when the barons forced king John to sign the Magna Carta that stated 25 barons could override the king at any time by way of force, the barons are the states of the union and the king is the federal government, how relevant that is in today's world is debatable but i can't see a state like Texas or any other collection of the 50 states organising thier citizenry and marching on capitol hill to overthrow a despotic federal government.
