Seems like they are intentionally trying to get Microsoft to sue them.

Out of all the companies out there that can store my data online (not that I would do that with anything important) Google is pretty much at the bottom of the pile...the only 'online storage' I'm using them for is a backup of my digital music collection as it offered the most space for free lol.
I'd be much more likely to use MS (still not likely) or rent/buy my own server if I wanted online backup these days, although having a close family member with a backup nas is much more likely if I wanted to go down the route of offsite backup.
Depending on your use case and bandwidth etc, Amazon seem to have a good offering with S3 - you can encrypt it with yor own keys so nobody's got access. Not free, but pretty cheap.Quote:

It is effectively what I do now, except I'm my own storage company.
I try to keep two common axioms in mind with ALL my online dealings :-
1) There ain't no such thing as a free lunch, and
2) If you can't see what the product is, the product is probably you.
