The Greatest Gadget Of All Time?

We all have our favourite gadgets; the gadgets that not only make our lives that bit easier, but we can show off with too. So what is the greatest gadget ever? The BBC have the answer:

It seems like an interesting list. The PBook was the first portable yet reasonably powerful computer, the previous Apple Portable had been about as easy to carry and useful as an Oak Tree. It showed what was possible and how things could be adapted.

The Remte control I think is a given, it was going to be in there somewhere.

Same Goes for Walkman.

The Startac I think was one of the first desginer type phones, with the flip mechanism that made it pretty damn small for its time. Good enough for me.

The Mouse. I'm using a variation at the mo. 'Nuff Said.

The Casio DigiCam- heralding the trend to come. While the Apple QuickTake may have been earlier, it think this one may have actually sold.

Pilot- The Yuppies Filofax for the 90's. Bringing pc power to your hand. I remember going to london just after they came out so my dad could replace his Agenda Microwriter with it.

Rio 300 - First decent MP3 player I think. I had a 500 and it rocked me. Hard. Infact, I wish I still had it. But My Grandad is using it to listen to musich while he gardens, and it still works flawlessly. It (300) was showing what was possible and set the way for the rest of em.

Atari 7600. A classic. Job Done.

Tivo - Much bigger in the USA than here and still going strong. THe first of the timeshifty autorecordy thingmajigs. Home Media Pc without MS.

Funny thing about this is that the Powerbook 100 is essentially a Mac Portable redesigned by Sony.
