So actually another design Kailh pulled out of some drawer.Originally Posted by Article

At that price there is so much competition...this needs to be really special to get our money I think. Aluminium back pates are a big no-no too - sure they look cool but if you stream or play MP games with voice your friends will hate you as it really amplifies the clicks! So much choice in mechanical keyboards at the moment but it's still hard to beat the Das Keyboard 4 for quality - it's a similar price to the overpriced RGB keyboards too. They have just launched their own overpriced RGB board too though.
Are Roccat considered a "premium" brand? I have a fairly negative impression of them putting them below Razer in my head, but i'm not entirely sure where that has come from
@rich835 I know what you mean I was gutted when my X4 finally gave out - but in a way I am glad it did as the difference between a membrane keyboard and a good mechanical is night and day. It's just a shame Microsoft never made a mechanical version of the Sidewinder.
Well they're not top of the tables, like Razer... but neither do they charge premium rates quite like Razer.
Build quality IMO is usually far better than Razer and their designs are pretty cool. I have generally liked the efforts they make and the directions their imaginations are heading. This is possibly the first time I've seen some Roccat kit and thought, "Err.... no thanks".
I'm glad there's innovation out there and we're not just relying on Cherry for mechanical for, ooh, say half a century...
I have a Corsair K80 or something with Brown switches and it's great.
One thing. Although you can select UK layout on the Roccat UK website, the image still shows US or something. Is there *Definitely* a UK layout with fat Enter key etc?
Other than that, will be interesting to read an in depth review one day comparing them to Cherry switches.
