I tend to agree with afiretruck, they shouldn't have broken specs but one of the main reasons they've given for G-sync is that it allows them more control over the quality of the product, if you want to complete control of an ecosystem then ultimately you're responsible for what happens on it, if DP1.4 can only do HDR 4K at 120Hz then that's what should have been the maximum.
Not so much removing an option, just making it clear that it's HDR 4K at 120Hz, the way their advertising them currently implies you get all three things at once when in fact you can have either 144Hz or HDR but not both. (sorry if I've got the definition of HDR wrong, is HDR 4:2:2?)
I'm glad I have more sense than money.
So when are the ACTUAL 4K 144Hz monitors coming out? With display port 1.5? When does that come out?
Feels like I've been waiting for this monitor for a year now, it's finally out and it's not as advertised
What a joke
There is no display port 1.5 yet. No hard and fast figures for when it will be released or what it will actually bring to the table.
However it was supposed to have been released in 2017 - best guess now is within the next 12 - 18 months
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
So having just watched an interview with AMD on 144Hz 4K HDR Freesync 2 displays would it be correct to say they'll also suffer from this blurring? if it's caused by DP1.4 then I'd guess so but I've not heard anything.

Yup as said - the DP standard simply doesn't have enough bandwidth for 144khz hdr. The new 1.5 standard was expected in 2017 but never arrived
