All this talk of 8086K and TR CPUs - even a Core i5 8400 or Ryzen 5 2600 would probably be a good prize for me!! :p

Haha yeah good one AMD, might be worth a thought if you are going to actually use the CPU, but as it is limited edition etc. I am pretty sure if you didn't use it and kept it boxed, it will be worth more to a collector in the future.

If I had won one I wouldn't be opening it put it that way.

They don't have to steal them from competitions, the 8086k is available retail, they can just buy one.

Who knows what the future holds? Or put it this way, if I had won one, I wouldn't pass the chance to swap it for a TR regardless of intention to use it or not. It's worth £300 more, if not using it then sell it straight away and use the money for something for today.

As its a limited edition it will be worthless in the future, there will be more in perfect condition in air tight containers than there is used.

I know I wouldn't hesitate in the swap myself but my main goal is productivity, will get an R7 if I can ever afford ram again.

Someone in AMD's marketing department is earning their pay.
