Happy enough with the performance in gaming with a Firecuda 2TB.

A bit expensive when compared to competing drives but the warranty seems quite decent though!

I thought 5 years was fairly standard for SSDs. Used to be standard for HDD before the floods, I think it is just WD black these days.

Many are 2, but if the manufacturer doesn't trust it I won't buy it. Not that I buy a lot of spinning rust these days, but if I do it's in at least a raid 1 pair for bulk storage so it's easy to be put off by a poor warranty.

Ah, that's not good is it

The Crucial MX500 I was considering getting is 5 year, and I'm sure my Samsungs were both 5 year. But then Samsung always did 5 year on their spinning rust so you kind of expect that on what should be a more reliable product, but looking it up now they seem to be all over the place from 3 year to 10 year depending on specific SSD.

I presume with these Seagates the high cost is to cover the likely replacement within 5 years
