Lack of SATA ports isn't so bad if the M.2 implementation is good enough

The biggest advantage of the B450 will be the Ryzen 2000 series CPUs and APUs should work out of the box with them!!

STILL only PCIe2.0 on the chipset? AMD, I am disappoint.

Yeah, the PCIe 4.0 spec has been out for a year, they could at least do CPU to chipset comms at that speed allowing the chipset to do PCie 3

Seems a bit harsh to blame AMD, the X300 was meant to be the SFF board/chipset but for some reason motherboard makers seem to have ignored it, maybe AMD hasn't pushed them hard enough but in the end there's only so much they can do.

B450 (and B350/A320, in fact) has a single x1 PCIe 3.0 which can be used a GP lane, as Sata Express, or as 2x SATA 3.0. X370/X470 have two such lanes.

Outside of GPUs and NVMe drives, how many peripherals actually need the additional bandwidth of PCIe 3? besides, the entire chipset is linked to the CPU via a PCIe 3 x4 link, so there's a hard limit to the total bandwidth available to peripherals anyway...
