Y'all are weird, it's awkward as hell. Look how she's holding it, gotta balance it with 1 hand while prodding with a finger. If your hand isn't big enough to grasp it, it's going to end up being pushed off your palm.

This is a daft device! It's too small to be productive, too big to be convenient.

Looks neat, like the case, keyboard looks as if it came from a MacBook - but I can’t really see the point of it!

I think I know why I want one now - it would be useful backing or quickly processing a few images from my camera if I was out and about. The fact it is not Atom based helps.

That sounds like a justifying solution rather than a real problem that needs to be solved

It would be useful though - I could run DXO in it,and this has 3 usb ports so could have a card reader on one and a backup drive on the other.

But the circumstances where you would take this/have this, rather than a full blown laptop, must be pretty slim to the point that its barely justifiable.

If I'm travelling somewhere, I take my laptop, if Im not travelling far, why would I take any computer... just back it up when you get home.

Great, now I want one too. That tiny enter key and space bar aren't going to be fun, though. But as a portable media/emulation thing. Mmmm.

Probably get used as much as my OpenPandora did.

I have zero interest in most laptops since they are too heavy and physically the size means I would never carry them anywhere. This is small enough to fit into a normal rucksuck in the front compartment, not an inefficient laptop rucksack.
It also has a reinforced metal frame, which means it is probably very sturdy.

I checked the top surface area - it would deffo fit the smaller bag I used. A iPad Pro wouldn't.

This laptop weighs as much as an iPad Pro,but has the advantage of being able to run full desktop apps like DXO for RAW conversion, etc as its a low voltage Core i3. In fact looking at the dimensions, this would actually fit in the bag of one of my smaller camera bags.

That is the one I would be using if I was actually walking quite a bit - I have bigger ones which would fit a normal laptop, but not the type you really want to be walking a few km with.

People tend to increasingly take tablets now over full blown laptops and I can see why.

I recently spent a whole day taking some pictures for a mate, and having two camera bodies, loads of lenses(plus no one to help),it would have been nice to have had a tiny laptop,to back up the pictures I had as it was an important event. One of them is online backup - I already run my D600 in SD card mirror mode, and to be able to use this upload backups during breaks in the day would be awesome,or even update the blog for it with pictures as the day progressed.

When I went on holiday,I would have prefered one of these,as have a 1kg~2KG laptop is a good amount of the hand luggage requirement used up,especially if you are travelling with photo gear.I would use a laptop like this 100X time more when travelling around than a normal laptop, and the last two laptops I had were 12.1 subnotebooks which were both semi-ruggedised.Also,I wouldn't trust hotel rooms and safes in many countries, this is the sort of device which can be probably dumped in your ruck sack and forgotten about like a tablet.

    Edit!!

8GB RAM,too which is much better than many smallish devices like this.

    Second Edit!!

Just checked with a tape measure - yep this will fit my smallest camera bag in the accessory storage compartment at 181×113×8-14mm.

The latest iPad mini is 203.2 mm × 134.6 mm × 6.1 mm,and the iPad Pro wouldn't fit. OTH,I would be more worried the exposed screen of the IPad Mini might require a case of some sort.

Yes,I consider my usage requirements niche, but otherwise if it is for general web browsing, etc I wouldn't bother with a laptop now.

My major concern would be the warranty though, which would put me off, even if under £500 is actually not bad for a device with a Kabylake Core i3 and under 500 grams.
