Re: Backers start to receive their ZX Spectrum Vega Plus consoles
imagine... Ant Attack followed by Attic Attack, then a session on Penetrator, followed by a few hours on Elite... back out to play Horris Goes SKiing, and finish with Jet Pac
Glorious.....
Re: Backers start to receive their ZX Spectrum Vega Plus consoles
Attic Attack was my favourite! Don't forget Jet Set Willy!
Unfortunate that the actual product doesn't look at all as nice as the advertised picture.

I remember a couple of times a week getting a later bus home from school so I could stay in town and play it in the amusement arcade using my dinner money. Well worth going hungry for :)
Re: Backers start to receive their ZX Spectrum Vega Plus consoles
Meh, the C64 was for rich kids. Speccy FTW.
Re: Backers start to receive their ZX Spectrum Vega Plus consoles
Am I right in thinking these are shipping without any games installed?
Doesn't that make them a bit useless?
Re: Backers start to receive their ZX Spectrum Vega Plus consoles
Buyers have the option to receive them sooner, if they're happy to install games themselves. I believe instructions on how to do this are included in the packaging.

If you're going to play Elite with a console controller, you might as well hit up an Android NES emulator and play the version that Braben and Bell considered the best: http://www.iancgbell.clara.net/elite/nes/index.htm
Re: Backers start to receive their ZX Spectrum Vega Plus consoles
You can also download a BBC Micro emulated version for free, from the Frontier store:

The NES version manages to adapt the entire control system to work with a D-pad and three buttons (A, B, Select), via a funky menu/icon system. I've got an android gaming thing that has a controller built in, and having been a long time Elite fanatic (having played the BBC B, Archi and PC versions of the original in my youth) I definitely rate the NES version :)
Re: Backers start to receive their ZX Spectrum Vega Plus consoles
Hmm, I might have to give that a try. The only Android device I have is my work mobile though - do you reckon that NES emulator will run on a Galaxy A3?
Re: Backers start to receive their ZX Spectrum Vega Plus consoles
Except this is now just the Vega Plus.. can't call it Zx spectrum any more :p
