Dual fan reference is actually a pretty big deal. I always understood that reference was guaranteed to be a blower as exhausting out the back makes the card less situation dependent in terms of delivering cooling. E.g. a case with poor general air flow.
A "down draft cooler" (what would you actually call these?) is generally better at cooling the card itself down, but needs the case to have some flow to pull cool in and hot out, otherwise the hot air just internally circulates and temperatures rise.

Has Nvidia decided that the gaming community, or at least the part of it that will be splunking 800-1000 on a card, doesnt need the "protection" that a blower offers and they will already have sufficient case cooling?
Perhaps the cards are really hot and they need better cooling than a blower can offer?

Edit... not sure why that word is censored... but ok

Dual fan founders would be nice.

And Biscuit, that word is obviously censored because it's a filthy word.. I fail to see how you can't see that.

This is all hype to get consumers to buy the cards lets see how they function in real world applications and disregard hyped up posts with how fantastic these cards are going to be leave out bench marks as these are false and misleading towards gamers..... Proof is in the pudding lets see them in action with the latest games.!!?? my 2ps worth

Less choice for SFF system fans now, especially those who actually build smallish systems.

Yeah this all a bit rubbish really, blower reference cards were the best option for SFF & HTPC builds.
