Sheesh! I thought £400 for my 1070 back in 2016 was a bit steep....

Come on people... We all know why prices are high. They still have to shift all those Pascal cards they thought were going to fly out due to cryptocurrency mining demands that has now disappeared.

Makes me sad that there are so many angry people who will buy the card anyway, then bang on about how great it is.

Its a cunning way for Nvidia to not have to deep discount Pascal cards though!

    Just saying.

aint going to buy it for years....... 2nd hand maybe in 3 or 4 years depending on price.
Thats way too much hurt in the pocket and I'm ok letting the miners buy them up for 2 years or so.

they could have made a difference but alas no.

    ahktually. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/dir...tx-raytracing/

there is directx ray tracing. get AMD to add driver support for current vega and rx5xx chips at the very least, add console support. BAMN entire console market has directx ray trace, then the developers will have to add the direct x version to every game, because we all know PC game are all ports nowadays anyway.

then there's no point buying expensive cards because the new fancy ray trace stuff works on the cheaper cards, even the £90 2200g ryzen apu.

    that's my dream anyhow.

I cant spare a kidney, dodgy family genetics means I need one as a backup

Re: Nvidia unveils the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080, and RTX 2070

You guys already calling these a rip-off before we've seen any real performance numbers. Save your salt for then, please.

GTX 1080's can be bought for $400 USD new, and that's what I did last week. I don't think prices on them will come down.

Wait for real-world performance, and most will probably find that the 2070 is a good amount of performance above a 1080 + gets the new RTX tech, for something around the same price.

But holy balls the GBP conversions on the new cards are NOT kind lmao.
