A laptop with no keyboard, which some call a tablet, that they said they invented in the first place, but didnt, sounds about right..

They should have kept the name iPad Pro free for any sort of tablet/Surface device they had in the works and just had the iPad XL or something, or MaxiPad lol, no idea why they haven't done it before now, artistic types would of flocked too it, now I think it might be a bit late to the party and not be as good a seller as they'd hope..

Missed opportunity. "Gather Round" could have been a great name for an event where they announced a round smartwatch (rather than an ugly rectangle), or where they got around to including a round fingerprint reader in their phones (given its such a huge missing feature), or they got around to finding that missing bits of their screens, etc etc.

The story of Apple is really, really sad isn't it. Gone from one of the tech giants leading in mass market innovation, known for high quality (albeit overpriced) hardware and great marketing, to being cash rich but producing crap idea after crap idea, whilst simultaneously dropping quality everywhere they can. Now they can only lead on their marketing (which is still pretty good), as their hardware is pretty much all pants these days.

edit: all that said, I can't really blame them. It's cheaper for a company like Apple to run this way and they will ultimately make more money in the short term whilst they continue to trade on their image & marketing. It's easy to ignore the fact you are producing rubbish when you turn round and see the piles of cash in your bank and that pile keeps growing!
