    Also, with Intel's current shortage of 14nm capacity..... AMD might be able to steal a little bit of market... Just imagine an ultraportable with 8C/16T and discrete graphics. Surely the creatives would go mad for it?

    Not really

    Besides, the 2700U is practically identical, 15W TDP, and is widely available in slim-and-light laptops (it features in Lenovo Ideapads, and HP Elitebooks and the Envy X360). You won't find an Ultrabook with a 4535W TDP processor...
