I'm kinda hoping for an Air refresh but my concern is they're going to do this and slash the ports, going down the stupid multiple dongle route. I really like the Air I've got now and if the performance was better (i.e. back to wheere it was before the updates ruined it) and the screen was more in line with modern standards then I might be tempted to buy another. They've got a really good formula there and it'd be a shame if they ruined it by changing all the ports to Thunderbolt, removing the card reader and the magsafe charger (which has saved it going for a clatter a few times).
Pretty sure they'll ruin it and jack up the price.
Hoping we'll see a proper modular Mac Pro, a space grey cheese grater or similar. The last one was such a waste of time for anyone into music production, especially at the price. Fingers crossed, I've got two recording studios in need of new machines!
"will switch away from Apple's Lightning connector to USB Type-C." A step in the right direction probably.
With the Mac mini, it'll be the first refresh since Oct 2014, I'm wondering which chips they will be using? The Ryzen Apus might be a good choice and allow it to be an interesting entry level gaming platform too.. though I still can imagine Apple sticking with Intel for the time being, maybe until they have their own chips to work with.
