I've been playing this on a standard ps4, I am using a gaming monitor and external speaker set up so it may look and sound bit better than it would on a large TV, however you can tell it is running sluggishly at times for sure.

That being said it is still the best game I have ever played to date in terms of how alive and detailed the world is, you can just lose yourself so easily in this game. The amount of times I forget what my main mission goal is and up on an adventure because of some random event is just amazing. I am enjoying it that much that I will probably be suckered into buying a second copy for the PC when it comes out.

I anticipate the online to be a cash grab again like GTA online was, but this is a game I wouldn't mind grinding on so much as it would fit the feel and idea of the game a lot more than it did with GTA.

Which is why I didn't bother buying it. The same will be true to RDR2 if it comes to PC. Basically if a developer is too lazy or blind to not develop for all of the main 3 platforms (could be argued that Switch is also another platform that should be supported), then I don't support that developer. Period.

My girlfriend and I have been playing it on the PS4 Pro on a 4K TV and it looks absolutely fantastic, save for some small artifacts that are generated around static objects while moving quickly. At first I thought it was perhaps the TV doing this so I swapped it over to a 4K monitor and got the same issues. The rest of the time it looks absolutely stunning though.

I'm with you on that one. I will absolutely pick this up on PC if it comes out. I bought GTA V on the PS3, PS4 and PC.

I think Rockstar made the decision to ditch PC releases after early gta's in the 2000's as after launching on consoles sales were much better than pc and most of the pc games that were released alongside consoles back in the day just ended up on pirate sites. Although the protections are much better developers still get ripped off especially back in the day. Also eases work cycles of dev teams i'm guessing. It looks and smells like a pc game, the 30fps again is probably just holding back so the port is easier to each console etc but thats just my 2cents.

Strange take.

There's infitely more cash in the PS4 and XB1 versions so it makes sense to get them out the door. GTA5 came out and was an exceptional port after it's delay(s).

Any how, the games companion app and Steam files have already been spotted in the files out in the wild.

The PC version is more than likely already complete and they are deliberately holding back its release as now a days the console and PCs share very simular architecture it would make sense to develop the PC version along side the console ones. or even they might dev the PC one first then scale it back to run 30fps on consoles.

I wanna buy this for PC but just dont wanna wait 12months or more as I'll loose interest in this title and maybe cyberpunk 2077 will be out and i'll be playing that instead.

Rumour has it there is a Remastered version in the works for PS5 and XBox for late 2019 or 2020. The PC version might arrive at the same time.

I read an interesting opinion piece yesterday - this guy's feeling is that, whilst RDR2 is great, it does disappoint in some areas. In particular he says the game world isn't dynamic enough in terms of the consequences of your decisions, and doesn't give you enough freedom of choice, as the main story is essentially many scripted sequences.

In fairness, I haven't played it as I only game on PC. It looks pretty damn good to me though, so I'll still snap Rockstar's arm off if they do release it on PC!

R2D2 not really my kind of thing, but I found a mate had cracked out his PS3 to play the first one last night, so it's clearly an interesting one.

I heard it was all P2W, though? Wasn't everyone up in arms over that recently?

That's a shame.... since many Devs are contractually obliged to make the game however the publisher tells them to. Rebellion have suffered such things at the hands of SEGA on several occasions.
Then you have the games that just will not work with console controllers, or will be such utterly clunky cack that it's not worth playing on anything less than a full KB&M PC....

Rockstar are lazy? Considering the hours some of these devs have been putting in (see current news stories) one might assume the opposite is true.
Not buying the game when it does come to PC because it wasn't on the platform on release? Your loss, mate. It's exceptional.
If you were that concerned about not being able to play exclusives, and the like, then as a true gamer you'd also have a console in your gaming arsenal.
I've been playing it on X1X and it's so gorgeous I've just had to stop what I've been doing to admire the view.
Perhaps it'll come to PC once and RTX 60FPS implementation is finished. Which'd be nice.

I've never owned a console (other than the woodgrain Atari VCS that I still have), and even I'm tempted to pick up an X1X or PS4 just so I can play this!

It seems to be pretty much accepted now that there will be a PC version, but I don't think I can wait that long :(
