Oh!!
So, next will be Office 2019 for Xbox, then Adobe CC suite, then ... and it will be small computer that you can use to play and/or work. Great
And when the next Xbox comes, it will be even better
The more you live, less you die. More you play, more you die. Isn't it great.
Knowing Razer's pricing their keyboard & mouse will probably cost more than a brand new Xbox One.
Never owned one and probably never will. I just don't understand the purpose of a console. They're just crap in every possible way lol
They were mainly designed for the Japanese market, where home space is very restricted and things like massive great PC stations (including CRT monitor) for gaming were a ridiculous waste. Consoles were far smaller and made use of the existing TV screen.
So I understand, anyway.
You'd better educate yourself a little then. The xbox one x is a serious piece of kit and delivers far better visuals than any pc within several hundred euro of its price tag. It's also a 4k bluray player with HDR. It's compact, quiet and an all round excellent piece of kit. I've been a pc gamer for a long time and used to scoff at console quality and framerate, not any more. My aging pc (2500k and gtx 670) can't deliver anything like what my sons One X can. At the current price of graphics cards any gamer on a budget would be foolish to overlook a top end console just because of past failings and prejudice.
Ignoring the console vs pc wars (why not just have both? different needs for different people.....my xbox is great for lazy gaming with friends, my PC is preferred for playing solo or FPS. Both are good just at different things)..
I am in two minds about adding KB/Mouse support though - the key will be if they make developers enforce player segregation to keep tings on a level playing field. It's totally unfair to pitch controller players up against KB/Mouse players in any sort of competitive game - the controller players will simply lose 95% of the time. People will take advantage - they already do via adaptors but adding official support opens the possibility of more people getting involved.
The issue is though that if developers do that, they risk making their games unplayable for KB/Mouse players as regardless of what I have just said, the vast majority of people will still be playing with a controller as it's more practical when sat on the sofa than using a KB/Mouse. That will lead to very long matchmaking queues or just having no-one to play against.
So whilst I do think its great to add official support for *single player* games - we really have to hope it's banned from online play. I remember playing Quake 3 on my Dreamcast - after a while it became unplayable online with a controller as everyone was using a KB/Mouse setup. I joined in at the time as otherwise the game just became a COD style Death Simulator
Guys, I'm so sorry.
Consider me educated.
I've seen the light.
The X Box IS indeed a "serious piece of kit" and with Microsoft absorbing some of the initial hardware costs in order to entice me into their excellent eco system, which in the long-run certainly looks like great value for money btw, then £230 is an absolute steal!
As a bonus, I'll be able to help bully (--I MEAN SUPPORT--) developers and the industry as a whole buy buying exclusive titles for my state of the art console. Hell, I'll even throw away that £30 Blu-Ray player I got two years ago
I can't believe how stupid I've been.
At least you've seen the light earlier rather than later.

Yes... and my Škoda Octavia is still a serious piece of kit, still faster than the average car out there a decade and a half after it was built, with superior luxury features in the L&K trim, all for less money than any other vehicle in it's price band... It's surprisingly good and people still rave about them, even now.
But that doesn't make it an Aston Martin or a Bugatti Veyron.
Depends on the budget.
That rig in my spec to the side there...
<--------------------
That didn't even cost me half the retail price, but it will pretty much spank any colsole out there... and more, if I ever actually overclock it.
So to go back to cars - You don't need a brand new Bugatti Veyron, when a second-hand Aston Martin will still be far better than a clapped out, dinged up, old tech Škoda...
