I like how they are upgrading the graphics but leaving everything else alone, to the extent they have said WC3 and WC3R players can play against each other, mods, maps etc will work with both.

That is how you do a remaster, now someone needs to do this to Cannon Fodder

I think it came mostly out of WoW TBH,as people could hack accounts,etc so they implemented this as part of the solution. I am on the fence regarding it TBH.

Cool and all but I don't feel like re-paying for a game I already have, finished and played for countless hours just for updated graphics and some little bonuses (damn I love that game so much though). I was playing Frozen Throne 2 weeks before BlizzCon not knowing this was coming. Should of stayed in the hands of modders though.

Diablo Immortal by all accounts I've read elsewhere is a bit clunky in terms of class abilities, as well as having quite a bit of the depth stripped out seemingly. I know it's only in the preview stage and some stuff isn't finalised, but it definitely isn't something I'd be playing on my phone.

Sigh to Warcraft 3 being remastered. Can't we just have a new shiny RTS? Or even better, a Diablo or Starcraft MMO?

From what I've read it seems to be a skinned version of an already available chinese mobile game, so all blizzard will have done is 'mobile size' assets and paid some money to get the rights to use it.

I have to say I have fond memories of starcraft (original one) but I'm not so sure it would work too well as an mmo.

They partnered with Netease Games didn't they? The ones who handle the China market or something or another? Probably is something along the lines of a reskin, or at the least using the same type of control systems in other games they've developed.

Oh I definitely think Starcraft would work great as an MMO

The answer to your question would be... never. They remaster our classic favourites (like AOE earlier this year) and we love em. They make money and we get more of them.

To be fair, I never did play WC3 back in the day. Perhaps I maybe might possibly get the remaster. Looks fun.

The graphics need to be much much better though. Yes, they might have 4K textures, but it still looks plain. It needs more flare and effects. Lighting, smoke and mist, deformation effects on the ground and buildings, etc. Like RDR2 has (imagine if WC3 had the effects where mud left tracks, mist came off water, smoke from fires that obscured your view). Would be a true remaster then
