This is really cool. Does "Reflective" mean it works more like an e-ink display as compared to LCD/LED screens that are emissive?

"Modulates white light from the environment" combined with the claimed power efficiencies sounds like it absorbs white light and alters what wavelengths are absorbed / reflected back.

well the screen might do 2000Hz but what kind of card would we need to support it? LN2 titans from 2028 in quad SLI?

Huh, I feel like this would really mess with color accuracy based on the surrounding envoironment. I guess that's why the stated application is VR, where the environment is more easily controlled.

I see where you're coming from, but my point is that you're just showing the same image over and over again. There's a point of diminishing returns. Unless you're going to try to get it to show more than a static image - in which case the card supplying it needs to be able to feed it at a decent FPS - and that is very much dependent on the GPU. The screen scanning and interlacing would be quite something at 2000Hz and could allow some incredible ray-tracing style effects if the cards can keep up. But currently they're working at their limits doing 60FPS well.

Yeah I had the same thought. Would it suck under flourescent strip with a low K bias? Is that why they're running it at the fair with a torch focussed on the sensor?

yes we do! to take advantage of the 144hz fast panel and run games at 100fps+ you need a top tier expensive card.
I have 144hz monitor and honestly can't see difference over 100hz. Would like ULMB + G-sync + 100hz + low input lag combination though

60fps? That depends entirely on what features are on and what resolution you're working with. A 2080 TI will handly manage 220 fps on ultra at 1440p on CS... 400fps doesn't seem much of a push considering how early this display tech is in terms of development...
