Well that is great news really...when you consider there are no bitcoin mining freaks who are buying dozens of cards just for that, but mostly just usual users, only 16-20% less is just great.
The more you live, less you die. More you play, more you die. Isn't it great.
Not when you consider the pricing hangover from the mining demand on supply.
Jon Peddie got a sex change?

Geez I wonder why? /s
When a RTX 2080ti is priced at AU$2200, You kind of expect sales to be down!
Would a ryzen apu count as a gpu sale?
With no 7nm and them being just around the block, I know why I'm not buying a gpu for Christmas this year. I would reckon 10-15% are thinking the same so no surprise here. Price doesn't stop me if I want it and will rejig my purchases to make sure I get a PC part if desired. IE, cancel netflix for a year, boom 16 GB DDR4 for xmas....LOL. There is so much free tv now on roku (including roku channel itself, crackle, plutotv, filmrise (multi channels), cw, cw seed, etc etc etc) you can easily cut cable and buy a PC every year or at least new guts yearly or every other year if desired (mboard/mem/cpu). We swapped cable for netflix for a few years, but dumped that as agenda tv took it over, and swapped that for much cheaper Feeln (now hallmark owns it with more content for $32 a year). If you have an HTPC even more free content via the web direct to most tv channels (in usa, not sure about europe, but most ep's are available one day/week later on cbs, abc, cw etc).
I use my vid card/monitor etc for years, $50-100 extra means nothing to me over the life especially if some is eaten by less electricity due to better power management etc in newer stuff. You have to figure TCO for however many years you keep your card, monitor etc. Can't wait to replace my aging 24in dell 1600p monitor as today I can get a 30in for less watts. That is progress, hoping the same from 7nm gpu vs. 1070ti and I won't be disappointed, it's just a matter of is that an AMD or NV card. Price won't mean much, for me it's heat, noise, watts with perf last as both seem to get that right pretty much. But I live in a hot state so...I'd rather have a better card than turn up the AC all day in a house without zoned ac. Cancel your cell for a year and you get a new PC in most cases yearly also for many. It's easy to fit in a PC part or two if you really want it. Stop going to the movies for a year if you do it a lot. Cut eating out for a few quarters, boom free pc part. I could keep going, but people who say they can't afford PC part X, need to re-examine their budgets or learn something to make your value to your employer HIGHER
Complaining about pricing? Get a better job, as the rich (even moderately) don't care and buy every year. Even middle class making 100k up laugh and most high end PC stuff. I bought a PC part every month with side job cash. Working in IT makes it easy as many learn if you give great tech help, and want you to build their next PC (I turn more down than I take on). KFC buckets every week and new drives or pc parts monthly on that crap. It only takes me 2 days on weekends a month to give me $300-400 extra to blow (2-3 builds, sometimes one for a rich guy). Get a 2nd side job using your skills from your real job to make an extra buck or two. It's not hard to get what you want if you quit whining and apply that time to MAKING MONEY. Stop trying to get them to lower the price and make more yourself so it doesn't matter. It's comic every cpu/gpu article has many saying "I hope they price it decent", or some such junk. YOU are in control of your finances. YOU are to blame for your crappy or GREAT life. PERIOD.
I'd rather have more R&D and pay steeper prices to keep it all going than beg for discounts on every article...ROFL. Razor thin margin crap causes no R&D.
My 2c.
Wish it were MORE! Nvidia has been NO FRIEND to Gamers... No look at the prices last year, don't tell they were hit blind sighted by the bitcoin bubble! They knew and Gamers suffered and nvidia licked their chops and I am now with AMD for life. Never again will i trust nvidia.
