Is there any kind of sense or story to the environments in these benchmarks?

I will be interested to try this out - curious what level of optimisation they have done and the approach they have taken to the scenes. Even more so now that i've been playing the latest BFV patch and seen a just under 100% increase in performance with DXR enabled (from circa 40FPS to 75-80) from their first round of optimisation, with (supposedly) more to come.

Similarly I am curious if they will make use of DLSS within this scene or not, or will this be configurable? Really curious on whether DLSS vs TXAA will make a difference to DXR mode or not in performance terms too.

Guess we will see in Jan

Well, the benchmark looks stupid to me.

Now, one interesting thing is, if its release date not just coincides with CES (which is normal) but also with AMD new GPU? Is there a connection?
The more you live, less you die. More you play, more you die. Isn't it great.

Perhaps I'm being cynical, but, doubt it. AMD is already as far behind as it gets for (real time) ray tracing, and they explained that they're not going to support it for a while. If any new GPUs pop up (also doubt it) then they won't have the guts to seriously play ball with nVidia anyway.

Dammit I just hate games and monitors relying on gpu brand specific technologies, there are really some cool monitors there which require freesync or gsync, then in games there is nvidia hairworks and amd tressfx, as of now we have to rely only on RTX series for some sort of RayTrace tech, I mean take Battlefield 5 for example, it's amazing how the reflections made such a huge change with RT on, almost as if the game is now looking far better than ever and that too on a FPS game.

heck this video here shows why I love RT now more than ever
