I ALWAYS want snappy responsive lag free gameplay so my point is applicable to both singleplayer and multiplayer. No, 60fps isn't plenty. I take 100fps over 60fps any day in variety of game genres (strategy like Total War, action like Tomb Raider, Dishonored). I don't notice much difference over 100fps. There are other things that impact the gameplay but a high refresh rate is certainly an important one.

I was hoping that 2070 could do 1440, but looks like I will have to settle for 1080 or pay for 2080 which is beyond my budget.

gtx 1080 is kinda meh, i expected more performance for 1500 euros card
