Re: QOTW: Which smartphone will you buy next?

Well I was very tempted by the One+6 but decided to hold out for the 6T then when the 6T came along I thought I'll give it another year & wait for the One+7 however in view of recent news re the 5G One+ for next year coming in at +$300 maybe the 6T will be back on my list. But gonna wait to see what Santa brings before I buy.

Whichever is the most recent design with a physical keyboard. I'm not expecting to have much choice...

Hopefully won't be getting a new one any time soon as I picked up a Pocophone F1 last week, pretty happy with it for the price!

Re: QOTW: Which smartphone will you buy next?

got a Nokia 1 a few weeks ago.
battery lasts 12 days on standby.
old phone lasted 28 days. need get used to charging it twice as much.

bought it, so could go get all the free stuff from priority at smiths. but as the weathers been cold windy wetness ive not been willilng to go. so missed out on some free stuff.
that 4 pack of AA's arrived this morning though.
fyi anyone else whos seen that offer. its just 1 x 4 pack, 4 chances to get it. not 1 free pack a week.

there is a bug/fault with the android-go camera app though. press the photo button while its still autofocussing at the camera app locks up. then proceeds to drain the battery as if the phone was at 100% use. so a freshly charged battery at 100% drains to 10% in a few hours. just reboot the phone to stop the bug/drain.

and android 9 go thing should be due shortly.

Re: QOTW: Which smartphone will you buy next?

I have no idea, my existing phone is only 2 years old, so I doubt my next phone is beyond the drawing board. Ask me in 3 to 5 years and I might have some idea.

I've got a Nokia One too, but the main camera doesn't seem to have an autofocus. Is there a sneaky setting for it?

No idea, I'm still quite happy with the performance of my OnePlus 5, so I'm not in a hurry to replace it. Maybe around 2020, I'll see what's on the market then.

its after you take a photo. the screen pauses to show the shot you just took. then you move the camera to look at something else while the screen is paused. when it unpauses, the image needs to read adjust focus and light settings and stuff. if you press the photo button while its doing that, it breaks the app. (default stock installed camera app)

    had it happen twice.

Probably a OnePlus 7. Did look at the 6t but my 3t still has plenty of life yet.

Can only get mine to pause after the shot with HDR on, that could be the culprit.

Re: QOTW: Which smartphone will you buy next?

After losing Windows Phone, I loathed going to Android, but at the time I disliked Apple as a company more. My Lenovo X4 Pure just died, and I had to get a new phone. I didn't relish another Android, so I purchased the iPhone XR for US$375.00, and I love it. It easily has the best user interface of the two main OSes at this time, and is a close second to Windows Phone for me.

    theres various culprits https://www.androidheadlines.com/201...ajor-bugs.html

the one I mentioned is just what I was doing when it crashed. I think that's the camera app im using, not sure. its my first smartphone, i'm still trying to figure out how to add icons to the homescreen and if it is called a homescreen. proper names of things is something I struggle with, especially if ive just eaten some of the tube and shell shaped spaghetti for tea

I'll think about a new phone when this one (Lenovo P2) will stop working or can't run apps anymore... hopefully in 3-4 years...

Putting stuff on the homescreen, and taking stuff off, isn't made easy on it. I use an app called novalauncher which is a bit more user friendly in regards to the screens.
