    "However, we don't know specifica..."

1080 performance at that price seems like a winner for me.

    $250? Isn't that low-end by Hexus' standards?

Good value, but still fairly far off at Q3 next year and nowhere near enough of a bump to interest me.

Re: AMD's 7nm Navi GPU shines in lab testing

The sooner Navi arrives the better. Q3 2019 feels like a long wait. I wouldn't be surprised if 1080s were going for $300 on Black Friday which could steal Navi 10's thunder long before it launched.

But what's to say that miners won't gobble up the supply of those too when they are released?

The fact that the mining bubble has burst so the ROI isn't there anymore.

Yes even though this is aimed at midrange, the 1080 was released in 2016! At least AMD aren't overegging people's expectations with this release

My point is that it wouldn't surprise me if the bubble re-established itself at that point.

Unlikely even with a crypto resurgence (which may happen) mos coins are now beyond GPU mining and moved on to asic hardware.

Re: AMD's 7nm Navi GPU shines in lab testing

If this was being released now at those prices then it would be an absolute winner. Nvidia would only be able to compete by making a huge loss on every 1080 / 1070 / 2070 sold.

But a year away? Welllllll, let's take a look at progression I'm familiar with. I bought my GTX 780 when it was the mutts nuts and it took about 3.5-4 years for mid range cards to match its performance. So, we're looking at 3 years for mid range cards to match the 1080's performance. This is a fairly normal rate or progression. Rush this out and you'll have people tripping over themselves as Nvidia are ripping people off and not offering anything great in terms of FPS improvement on current games. It NEEDS to come out faster than this to cause any real disruption.

Re: AMD's 7nm Navi GPU shines in lab testing

It's been years since I used an AMD gpu but ....same performance as a 1080 at that price I would change brands like a shot!
Nvidia has been treating the public almost as bad as intel over the last 2 years or so, the RTX launch is a joke but untill now its only been aone horse race.

    Bring it on I say
