Will it change what gets loaded into extended memory like the boot discs of old?

Re: Microsoft wants your ideas to improve Windows 10 gaming

Considering the Xbox has its own gaming version of windows 10 I don't see why they can't modify that and release it for the PC as an alternative boot option; it would be better than using the Xbox windows app.

Hell you could even just scrap all that and have a boot mode that literally just boots into the xbox app, with an option to browse your storage, to add games into the library that don't appear automatically.

They should release all their xbox games on pc. Also it would be nice if bloat was removed or made optional for windows.

Unfortunately, that is not that easy. Consider that XBox have a fixed set of hardware, but if you port that to a common PC, you have to implement the way to support ALL the possible PC hardware.

I see your point in regards to a modified Xbox windows 10, but I doubt it would be as big an undertaking as you make it sound considering it is still the same OS at it's core and the full version of windows 10 would already have a treasure trove of code ready to port over. Also, a bootable Xbox app shouldn't be as hard considering it already runs on PC's (albeit presently within a full version of Win10, but that is the part they can trim down to gain performance).

Just UWP it and focus on supporting the UWP layer maybe?

Re: Microsoft wants your ideas to improve Windows 10 gaming

The Windows 10 Xbox Gaming App is awful in every way. Probably their worst GUI to date.
I'd suggest scrapping it altogether and starting again.

How about HALO 3 for PC first and then we can talk?

What does Halo do that Quake/Unreal didn't do 10 years earlier?

Re: Microsoft wants your ideas to improve Windows 10 gaming

All of those suggestions are very minor ones that won't make much difference. If they want to fix Windows 10 gaming, then UWP games need to be more stable, more open to offline-only mods, and they need to use something that works right out of the box for multiplayer - the Teredo solution is a joke, seeing as it is very fragile and turned off by default.

They should add Xbox and Xbox 360 compatibility to the PC

Duel boot, have one OS for gaming & one OS for everyday stuff.
Since I have satellite, it is no use going on-line to game, so that OS never connects to the internet ever, so it runs like the day it was installed all the time (mainly)
