    Globalfoundries may be bought by Samsung or SK hynix

    Meanwhile it has put 7nm, more advanced node R&D on hold, according to reports.

    What is the market value of GloFo this days anyways? DO not think AMD has that kind of money.
    However, Apple would be kind off company that can make the most off it. They are all for vertical integration as much it is possible. Them not having to depend on TSMC or Samsung would great.

    Plus, that would certainly accelerate their ARM CPU development

    No value in producing chips, profit comes from designing them. Look at Intel - they are in production hell with 10nm - if they bought in fab capability they'd be through 10nm and marching towards 7nm now. The problem would have been someone else's. AMD do well to stay clear of production and focus on design.
