Currently Doing a Cyberpunk-2077 Mod, Cutting up the front panel on the masterbox 5. Putting some denim, black and purple plastidip after hot glueing some wire mesh/grill as a filter in. Spraying the psu shroud static yellow with CP2077 decals in purple. the back of the case is being sprayed the purple to match the front. Hot pink normal spray paint will be sprayed in part with a dark bronze. THEN THERE ARE THE PURPLE CATHODES. One hidden to highlight the components from above and one sticking out of the front of the case.
Modded = Yes.
I use PicoPSU and a 12V block - but else it looks like at physics experiment with loose SSD, power blocks, cables and all, half open cabinet over.
It looks so bad that no thief will evar steal it.
I've only in the last couple of years, since buying a Fractal Design Define R5, got round to tucking the wiring away reasonably tidily. Modding is a step tooooo far.
Nah...
my pc's specs bare little comparison to the original delivered item but the pc case is stuck behind a huge tv or under the desk and i look at the tv or monitor to see what the pc does. i don't want lights to make the bedroom or living room look like close encounters of the third kind at night time. some of the case mods look cool but it seems an easy way to blow a lot of money on something pretty pointless and the money could be better spent on something more useful unless you've a very rich kid. i don't think girls are going to be impressed and want to date you cuz your pc case doesn't look like a standard dell

I have tremendous respect for those willing to go the extra mile and create something truly unique.
Myself? I actually avoided buying a case with my new build because I really like the monolithic design of my Lian Li TYR PC X500B case, I did consider upgrading the ports to USB 3.0 at one stage, but even that was probably a step too far for me. I did however add a Corsair Commander Pro to the case in place of the built in fan controller, purely for more finite control over my fan curves due to upgrading to the 9700K and using possibly one of the hotter VRMs on the Asus Maximus Hero XI.
I never get as far as the bling. (And now gauging cost against the monthly pension)
I've always built my PCs (excluding a HP base unit that I won years ago). On a budget, so very functional.
I currently use a sound reducing padded case, but have gone for a water cooled processor, which seems an essential for gaming these days, or maybe I am too temperature conscious... (A lovely cool processor, but the motherboard is hotter that I'd like).

I drilled some holes and stuff like that. I guess that counts...?
It depends how you define "modding" rather than a "custom build".
I have had to modify my case to fit my Radiator & pump in the places I wanted - meant taking a hacksaw to part of my case and a drill to some of the hard drive bays...terrifying when you have just bought a new case, but ultimately was easy enough to do.
I do really want to build a wall mounted PC and may do so later this year when I get around to upgrading my CPU/board (i.e. when Intel launch their new architecture), but still only at the planning stages. Debating if I should build it into the desk or just onto some plexi & MDF.....the latter is easier, but in-desk setups are really cool too.
Only a few small mods to my current PC nothing worth mentioning, My old cooler master had a few decent mods though.
I have both my rig and my wife's rig fully water-cooled with rigid tubing.
I have painted some items to match better, fan grilles and both of my wife's radiators (was going to paint mine as well but decided against it as they are hidden away in the rear compartment of my Tower 900).
I have modded cases slightly before, but not for a few years.
Modded, No not at all.
custom Watercooled, but not modded. Function over form for me....

My PC is built into one of the drawers of my desk, gives me plenty of room and the only sign is the orange glow.
Nope default everything. As long as it runs that's all that matter to mostly. Also airflow. Not really into modding cases.
