    Asus has responded to the above.

    It has created a diagnostic tool.

    There is a fix in the latest version of Live Update (ver. 3.6.8).

    Happy with my ASUS GL703GS laptop, but the software / software support is terrible. Doesn't surprise me that this has happened.
