Shame they don't make a Silencio version of this without the side window / perforated case.

I like it - only 20mm wider and 10mm higher than my TJ-08e, but it fits a full ATX board? No 5.25" drive cages help cut down on volume, but it's still neat

Or just a non-window case. I'm slowly but surely getting tired of the fact, that most new and interesting cases are "window only". Besides that, are those even legal to use? Acryl, tempered glass etc. aren't really known for their EMI shielding qualities. Unless there's been a development I'm not aware of.

Re: Cooler Master Masterbox Q500L launched at £49.99

I am trying to figure out where you would put the PSU that:

    A. Is adequately cooled.
    B. Not dumping warm air into the machine.

[EDIT] Noticed the bracket for it at the front, not a bad idea actually for space saving, but I reckon it would still warm a system up a bit more than at the back if all the other fans are traveling the air in that direction.

Legality of using electrical equipment without a case?

Pretty certain the EMI emissions by electrical components by your average desktop are in the range of "sweet fanny adams"?

Believe it or not, but this actually is an issue, what with our gigglehurts processors and all.

From what I've gathered by doing some quick research on the net the reason companies can get away with selling these unshielded cases is that regulatory bodies like the FCC only test completely assembled PCs. In effect, the case manufacturer shifts that burden onto the consumer, who fills the case with all sorts of exciting components ...and who pretty much couldn't give a f*** about EMI shielding compliance.

Apparently, there are some coatings that can alleviate the issue, but I seriously doubt they're used in £50 cases.

I would guess it has to go through CE compliance in the UK, not sure what protections other countries have though.

I'm sure an empty case with no PSU would have excellent emissions

This is an amazing case for £49 quid..but if you have big PSU it may restrict the size of your GPU card...so check carefully.
