    If..... the game booted up a lot faster...if it didn't need a mammoth enormous multiple gig download everytime I wanted to play it (I dont play often...monthly maybe) ....if it was actually something I could play without a 4 hour planning session... to get the aforementioned downloads and boot up time...

    I'd still not bother. Frankly...it's dead to me

    @Tabbykatze

    If previous games are anything to go by about 3-9 months after the main DLC pipe dries up. I know I went back to BF3 and picked up the engineer and sniper fast track packs. IIRC they were even balanced by only giving you all weapons, and still having you play through to earn the mods.

    The sad thing is not that they added real currency, but the fact that people will actually use it.

    Pure greed, simple as. Next they'll be adding ads to it as well. Already seeing games with some ads on the walls, crates, etc. No more "here is a complete product" game anymore. More like here's a game, pay if you want to get ahead.

    It's fine if gamers like the purchase model, but it just speaks laziness and greed.

    The same way Blizzard closed their shop in Diablo 3, just not in the spirit of the game, best decision they ever made.

    Re: Battlefield Currency, based on real money, goes live

    The cosmetics side of this is a good thing - the hope is that now they have added the ability to purchase cosmetics, EA will finally add more variety to the game...and as long as those cosmetics are not exclusively available via paid for currency (and they also dont decide to include an exclusive "all white" snow suit outfit, which woudl be OP in firestorm), then this is positive for players.

    The only thing I really disagree with are the "catch up" boosts as they make all the unique items that we've unlocked through the tides of war kind of..irrelavent - it's not longer a mark of participation if you can just buy them Character boosts are just as pad, and are indeed "pay to win", but sadly that has been a feature of battlefield games since 3.

    I'm really enjoying being back in BFV at the moment - firestorm is a lot of fun and i'm racking up the kills and V for Victories atm which is keeping my hooked The game has improved leaps and bounds in the past 3 months, with load times reduced to normal levels, patch sizes no longer in the 25gb+ range on average, in-game performance now excellent (around 80-100fps with everything on, including RTX on ultra @ 1440p)....

    Of course you still get occasional silent Crash-to-Desktop when loading maps, but then this is a Battlefield game, it's been a feature since BF1942

    Indeed I am a tiny bit surprised they have not included this already - One of (if not *the*) first games in which I saw in-game real-world advertising was Battlefield 2142 (a seriously underrated game imo, I really enjoyed it)..the kick back at the time was huge from the community, but I didn't really find it too instrusive at the time.

    Greed strikes again, I havent played BF since 4, and the bugs not being fixed in favour of new maps or DLC made me not want to bother..

    Same here, I still can't swim in single player without going backwards constantly.

    Don't forget they have had the ability to quick purchase all the guns in a pack since Battlefield Bad Company 2. Booster packs were also a thing since BF4. Only now it's via purchasing in game currency. They've been doing this for years and is nothing new.

    Re: Battlefield Currency, based on real money, goes live

    I disagree. I don't see how games developers can make such amazing games on a one off purchase model. Won't be using currency to buy a different coloured gun though. What's the point of that. Must be a kids thing.
