    CeBIT 2005: Introduction

Of course the companies present at CeBIT will be far greater than IDF, but we expect to see very similar things: products bringing computing into every part of daily life, be it on the move or in the living room. There's sure to be a few surprises along the way, and lots of juicy new details and specifications to digest.

Hi there - i know i'm new to the forums but i would be extremely interested if you looked at raid card offerings - but specifically PCIe ones.
I feel that RAID 5 with 5+ hard disks would benefit massively from PCIE on the home user's desktop. AFter all, with so many things integrated into the motherboard, beyond GPUs, we need some reason to have PCIe.

I'm especially interested in 3ware/amcc becuase they claim their cards will be out by the end of the year but i don't particularly believe them. Also, promise will be at cebit.

Also, one other request - if you go to the lian-li stand, can you get a picture of the front of the v800 case please? thanks.

I'd be interested too, given that I need to upgrade my PCI RAID 5 card to a PCIe solution

Funnily enough, I actually found one card - the Areca 1200 series that might be kicking around in retail somewhere.
It seems that the upcoming breed of PCIe Raid cards will be coming with the xscale IOP332 at 500Mhz for PCIe (331 for PCI-x) and RAID6 support :S

Well I'll need to get a new waterblock for my chipset as a PCIe RAID card won't fit in there with it. I like the idea of the ARC-1110 though.

Get the hexus guy to go to the alphacool stand at cebit too
Hall24, stand B18 and grab some pics of any nice coolers they have there.

    Alphacool.
