    Windows 10 May 2019 Update stumbles over USB storage

    So if your machine has a USB drive or SD card plugged in, it won't be able to update.

    Have they fixed it yet so when you click 'Update and shutdown' the computer actually shuts down when its updated..?

    If the USB stick has a Linux installer on it, yes you can

    As for Windows, it sounds like there is already a fix for this. Which is just as well, we have a Windows tablet around here that doesn't have enough flash storage on board to handle a Windows update so *has* to have a USB stick plugged in to get upgrades.
