I wasn't suggesting that AMD wouldn't want such confusion to work to their advantage, but for people less aware of tech (that "some people"), it could easily be detrimental to their ability to get the right help or recommended product if needed.
Personally, I'd rather market share was gained honestly rather than as a result of confusion.
Although the same could obviously be said towards NVIDIA with their numerous versions of 2060s, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it be a practice they'd continue into their next generation too, making it confusing enough for people who do keep up-to-date about tech.

" You can knock a good £10 - £20 off of OCUK prices though for equivalent elsewhere..... even Scan"
The same scan whose cheapest 2070 is £470?
I will never buy from Scan
I mean this could be flipped, AMD / ATI have already done a 2xxx series, as well as the 3xxx/4xxx/5xxx .... Nvidia have also done a 4xxx/5xxx/6xxx series ... you get the idea. There is nothing to indicate Nvidia would even run with the 3xxx series naming, historically Nvidia and AMD / Radeon card naming conventions have flip flopped over the years.
I'm just wondering if AMD do make an XT card, will they also make an XTX card... like the 1xxx series.
RX 3080 XT sounds like an unlikely naming to me, but then I still think 2080 is dumb numbering and that happened.
hi to all! give me plzase funny cats videods on yourtube
It wouldn't be the first time AMD borrowed others naming schema... like AM4/TR4 chipsets recently... so this 3080 doesn't seem THAT unbelievable for a naming...
