Can anyone explain to me how an Intel CPU / chipset process shrink can provide 3x faster wireless speeds?
Surely this is going to be a result of moving to newer wifi spec? Yet it's first on the list above video transcode and GPU speeds?
So what they admitted is basically its going to be 2021 before they fix this horrendous mess that is 10mn?
Going to be interesting to see what sort of gains AMD get from this.

How about they start shipping 10nm on mass then they can speculate about what they will fail to deliver later!
It doesn't. Given their recent public failure with 4G and 5G models I'm also surprised they lead with wireless speed.
You aren't the only one, Charlie at Semiaccurate basically said that 10nm wasn't competitive with 14nm and by the time it was would be rolled over by 7nm.
But however you describe it, Intel messed up pretty badly here. But they are Intel, they mess up all the time and no-one seems to care. What matters to them now is whether they learnt from their 10nm development and produce something they can actually ship for 7nm.
I wouldn't hold my breath on that. Also "shipping" 10mn is a very loose term considering they only going to be pushing ULV laptop chips this year.
They are trying to sell everything that "works" (yes even disabling the broken onboard gfx and selling those chips) cos they cannot make enough of them. Pricing top end stuff at WAY over market price to keep demand lower. There is no WAY i'd recommend new tier intel servers at the prices they have for Xeons. I'd rather pay for 2x AMD Eypcs instead.
Intel isnt going to "suffer" that much cos their profits on what they do sell are insane. However they will loose market share to AMD as people go elsewhere instead.
I'm not glad to be proven right, simply more because there are so many people who think the sun shines out of Intels booty and that no matter what was said or shown believed that 10nm was gods gift to silicon kind.
It is sad Intel still isn't admitting failure but this is as close as we are gonna get.
