I wouldn't mind a 0 kelvin freezer, the ol' microwave might take a little longer warming up my dinners though.

Didn't dive into the links, but I'm noting that there's no mention of *how much* electricity....

Something that jumped out at me too. I'm going to guess (due to my lack of knowledge and lack of clicking on links to check if it's pointed out in them) that it would probably consume a fair bit of electricity and thus would need something like the recently announced SuperFlower 2500W PSU.

I'd imagine the consensus was that it would get a frosty reception.

Don’t think making your CPU into a superconductor would be very helpful!

You would get absurdly zero output!

I was gonna say, does this level of cooling not result in lots of condensation on yer motherboard?

The original article didn't mention either. I'd venture a guess that it wouldn't be all that much if the experiment target is quantum scale. However much it is, it's undoubtedly considerably less energy than needed to super-chill cryofluids like LN2, much less LHe3, to do the same job. LHe3 especially needs far more compression/cooling cycle stages. With this, you also don't have to worry so much about coolant running out if the experiment runs on longer than you planned (for whatever reason).

Condensation isn't a problem when your motherboard instantly turns into an iceberg.
