Way too expensive. I am looking for a monitor with similar specs, but don't need a DAC, don't need for it to be HDR10 compatible... just that aspect ratio, resolution, normal gsync and refresh...
Let's keep waiting and see what Acer does with the X35

    Haha!!

    £2700 for a VA panel.

Doesn't matter how much glitter they roll on a turd, a VA panel is a bad idea for a gaming monitor.

Thats a lot of pixels, with the 10bit panel and HDR does this use chroma subsampling or is there enough bandwith for it on DP 1.4?

I imagine it's gonna need to use a pair of DisplayPort 1.4s for that.

I don't think GSync supports bonded pairs like that.

Those 4k144hz monitors topped out at 98hz with 10bit HDR so theoretically this would be limited to ~164hz before you'd need to subsample, unless I'm missing a number somewhere.

    £2,699
Are they trying to compete with Apple? Might as well make the monitor stand optional and charge £1000 for it....

This is the monitor I've been waiting to buy. But they're taking the effing piss with that price. I was expecting £1,000 - £1,500. No goddamn way. Gutted with them.

When Acer release the Predator X35, if they're around the £1,500 mark they'll clean up.

It's the same panel with the same features, isn't it? I think you know where the price will land.

    Ehhh, no.

I bet half the cost is likely to be the Gysnc FPGA...

Best to let them know what you think, Asus could clearly do with your advice. I could let them know if you want?
So VA = bad, IPS = good? Wow, that makes it so much easier xD

Will it be around £1,500? That'd be nice.

It must have taken this long for AU Optronics to get high enough yields on the panels to go to market.
