Imagine they bring Xbox One hardware into one off those Surfaces?
that would be great.

They would genuinely break the market. Laptop and Gaming suite, Id give them a grand right now to put a high-end APU in a laptop. But would that mean they would gain a mega-monopoly?

If they go AMD does that mean a prie drop?
I'd really love a Surface Pro with better GPU capability, something to replace my 2017 i7 model..
USB-C was expected though, given the Go has it..

Possibly, Intel does kickbacks for using the high end processors but the consumer has to pay the price for it.

Surely the cooling requirements wouldn't work unless it was like my P4 based gaming laptop that could heat a small building in Alaska and cooked itself....
Actually, I hate to admit this, but I may be partially responsible for global warming.
Re: Microsoft testing both AMD and Arm powered Surface devices
I just want a surface device with usb-c thunderbolt e-gpu support. If they release that then they can take most of my money and I'll be happy.
Re: Microsoft testing both AMD and Arm powered Surface devices
Honestly I'd just like a surface display for my own pc.
Arm based surface go lte wouldn't be a bad idea though.

YOU DID THIS!!!
Now, go stand in the corner and keep your P4 company... ;)
Re: Microsoft testing both AMD and Arm powered Surface devices
Next Surface Go with OLED screen, Arm CPU and 5G pretty please
Re: Microsoft testing both AMD and Arm powered Surface devices
P4's were bloody useful in the winter though, didn't need to turn on a radiator with one of them by your feet :)
Re: Microsoft testing both AMD and Arm powered Surface devices
I think M$ are having enough trouble getting Win10 to work properly
without the bugs, let alone trying to get Windows to work on ARM.
Re: Microsoft testing both AMD and Arm powered Surface devices
I was hoping to get a Surface devices with Intel Ice Lake CPUs which have Thunderbolt integrated. With USB4 and DisplayPort 2.0 based on Thunderbolt I don’t get why Microsoft insists on not supporting it.
