So 5700XT is priced like 2060 Super, and 5700 goes against 2060?
Is this because 5800 (XT) will go against 2070 series and 5900(XT) will go against 2080 series?
Let the price war start (the only kind of war that I like)
The more you live, less you die. More you play, more you die. Isn't it great.
I need the reviews because it makes me scream that this "new GPU" is slower in some cases than a 590/580. Unless this really is middle of the stack GPU from AMD then that would make sense.
So they've achieved price parity with the Vega 64 & 56 launch prices, IIRC. That's a good start.
It still doesn't change these being mid-range GPUs launching at high-end prices, however.
The review from Benchmark.PL was using some very hit and miss drivers by all accounts, so be excited to see the results come 7/7. I know models have already been sent out to reviewers - one leaked breakdown from HardwareCanucks was released on YouTube a week ago.
If the price cuts are truth then they're a vastly more appealing proposition - doesn't remove the fact that the market is skewed since the mining 'boom' though.
Sensible move, if the price cut turns out to be true. Hopefully Hexus and others will be including Rainbow 6 Siege in the benchmarks ! Just looking at the leaked Wolfenstein 2 benchmark, the RTX 2060 beating a Vega 64 on Vulkan looks odd to me? I would have thought the Vega 64 would edge it personally, though could be wrong.
One of the retailers that had 5700 on pre-order has lowered their value proportionally to the MSRP reduction. Still, all rumors at this point.
You're right that some of those benchmarks looked a bit suspicious.

This weekend going to be not going out at all: Stranger things new season just arrived and on Sunday all those benchmarks to read...
The more you live, less you die. More you play, more you die. Isn't it great.
I'd be very, very surprised if those positions are correct WRT the RX 590. The 5700 being slower than an RX 590 in any benchmark seems like a driver problem as mentioned earlier in this thread. There's simply no part of an RX 5700 that is less in any way than an RX 590 - memory, cores, ROPs, clock speed. And it uses way more transistors. You don't just waste die space for no performance gain.

For me to upgrade from my Vega 64 the 5700XT would need to drop to £325 or less. Otherwise not interested.
The pricing cuts have been confirmed by AMD. Please see below.
