A company denying recurrent problems due to design flaws?
Nintendo, you dropped your apple.

You used to have this on the N64 control pads too on the analogue stick. I remember having to take them apart and clean them to get them operational again loads of times.
Re: Nintendo Switch 'Joy-Con drift' class action lawsuit filed in US
This has been a painful issue for me. the official sticks worked fine until about 600 hours. Cleaned stick internals, made no difference. So I have bulk bought replacement Chinese sticks which are going every 50 hours which is really annoying. I use the pro controller now anyway as it is far superior, But I would jump on this suit if i could. Nintendo wouldn't let me claim my warranty as i bought it from toys-r-us, so that's my warranty gone.
Re: Nintendo Switch 'Joy-Con drift' class action lawsuit filed in US
The issue is down to the carbon tracks in the joysticks are being worn away naturally from use, the dust can cause issues and drifting but the tracks mean loss of conductivity and other issues. All fixes short of replacement are temporary; the issue is with the hardware being used and unless nintendo address this with a different joystick supply then this will never be resolved longterm.

Had this with my right joycon to a heavy degree and my left one to a very slight degree. I'm not impressed, particularly since my 3ds stick also broke. However we have at least 2 years warranty so I just sent them in for repairs.

The point is though, you shouldn't have to. I mean if you are sending them to a repair center, you might as well fix them yourself for half the price of shipping, Its pretty easy.

Agree you shouldn't have to. Returns are via freepost in the UK though.

This whole thing quickly turned into a nightmare for Nintendo.

So? it's been a nightmare for consumers since day one. I just want to have hassle free gaming when I play on a console.

I had this problem too but they replaced it promptly. I now have a pro controller, but I'm thinking I should go back to using the joycons so that if they fail again I have a chance of replacing them within warranty.
