Didn't bethesda remove the (working) backwards compatibility support for the doom games on the Xbox one as this came out so people who were playing it or have it already on disc from the xbox/360 days now have to rebuy it?
"We're making a hash of customer relations and new games so we're trying to milk something we know works, even though people can play Doom on their phones and printers these days".
Also, Doom has been pirated so much you can probably download it from the toilet.

Good news for hardcore oldfags)
I noticed WorthABuy has a couple of new videos that are something to do with this. Haven't watched them yet, as I'm not really in the mood for an opinion-rant at this time. Probably has some truth in whatever he says, though... He usually does, even if he's not wholly on the same page as me.
It's cheaper and a more pleasant experience to just buy the games for a couple quid off GOG.com.

His latest Wolfenstein one is spot on I've gotta say. In another rant video he sadly accurately reflects the industry as a whole and it is for the first time one of the reasons I am now without a gaming PC. The cost for me now exceeds the entertainment it brings. Modern consoles just don't appeal.
That's my strategy these days. Tbe gaming industry has managed to convert me from an avid gamer always watching release day, to someone who dabbles in games, always a few months if not years, behind the curve. The result is I get the same enjoyment as before, albeit deferred a bit, and at a fraction of the price without all the DRM stuff getting in the way.
It csme about because I ranted about being so fed up trying to work out which game had what DRM, required Steam or some other client, that I'd pretty much given up gaming. Until several people here (most notably Ferral, but thanks to him and the others) pointed me at GOG. Without that, I doubt I'd have gamed in years.
Doom 1 has been available on iOS before - I own it but sadly they removed it from app store a few years ago and I don't have the image backed up
I'd really hope that they just make it available again so I don't have to re-purchase it but I suspect they will try and screw more money out of me for it...which they won't get.
