Yep nothing like confusing the customer by having a weaker card have a higher model number....
Most 'normal' people will think an rx640 is better than an rx5xx card....

All GCN 4.0? That's interesting, the 520 they're replacing is only "1st Gen GCN"
    https://www.amd.com/en/products/graphics/radeon-520

I'm disappointed by the option for DDR3 on the 620, even modern CPUs don't use that stuff

I'm interested to know what your preferred naming scheme would be.

Leave them as is rather than rebranding them... it would save confusion for the people who are likely buying these items.

They're different chips though, the claimed features are only possible with a whole new layout

I know, just like NVidia's naming scheme, where the 2060 is more powerful than the 1080. Er, wait a minute...

Never seen a single review of these chips/cards , How does the rx540 in the intel Hasbean canyon NUC compare to ?? anything else .
DDr3 is bad , review the gddr5 version and then get sold the ddr3 ..disappointment: Grrr:
