Is it worth getting? It's still not exactly budget priced.

Keep in mind if you get it on GOG, AFAIK you can't play with people who have it on Steam. It's also currently cheaper on GMG which is a steam key, I grabbed it for just over £16.

What's the consensus on this game now? Seems to have had a bit of a resurgence since that awful start and it can be picked up fairly cheap now. Active community? Worth a go?

I think it's worth another shot. I'm going to have a crack at it over the weekend.

I never bothered with the release game, but have just picked this up, it's a little confusing at first but I can see potential. We're going to be playing it in VR this weekend, so that should be an experience!

Likewise, the initial release a few years back sounded really good when it was announced but the backlash of negativity soon after release put me right off purchasing it on PC. I'll give it a go this time around and will no doubt be losing my weekend to it.

It's widely available for less than £20 now so I think I'll give it a go this weekend too!

I have the same question of this I always have in Star Citizen threads: Is it feature complete yet?

I bought it on PS4 in August 2017 when the "Atlas rising" patch came out and it was certainly worth the £10 I paid at the time.. and the numerous chunky updates since then, might mean it might be worth £20 now. I'm going to try and get into it over the weekend, since I haven't played for a while. It's good to see Vulkan supported now too since I might be tempted to get it on PC too and I'm probably going to go for a Navi card on Black Friday etc.

Re: No Man's Sky Beyond rolls out (video)

Compared to version 1.0 this game has come on leaps and bounds, loads of content now and a great multiplayer hub to show off your ship and do missions. They even have logic gates in the game now via generators and switches, definitely worth a try if you are into this type of thing, VR is implemented well but motion controls will slow down progress so I switch between the two depending on whether I want to progress or just take in the sights. Hoping for game pad support in VR so I never have to take off my headset again. I recommend it, but there is some grindy game loops with mining and crafting, although the game gives you the freedom to do whatever you want and whenever after the tutorial, you can ignore all the various quest lines and just explore. for example me and my friend flew off and spent two hours on one planet last night, excavating rare bones worth millions of units.
