Thing is, people don't really consume that much data on their phones, so offering unlimited data plan for say 30$ (when a user only averages say 10GB of data per month) is much better business than giving 15GB of traffic for 10$. Users always want more, so why don't offer them that for...more money? Even if they don't use it.
I personally find it really weird that there even are 1st world countries without affordable limitless 4G and 5G connections.
I've been paying for years about 14€/month for as fast connection as the network can supply, so usually 50-100Mbit/s which is more than enough for a phone.
I have 20 H speech and 20 GB data / Mo, and i use about 3 H speech and 1 Gb data.
If thats not a proof i am not afflicted with the smartphone decease i dont know.
So i could change to a smaller and cheaper plan no problem, but i like having a overhead in mobile data, like i also do in computer hardware and other walks of life.
I will have to change supplier again soon as i can see one can give me 30 / 30 for the same price i pay now.
I think I'm on £32/month for unlimited data at unlimited speeds. SIM only. Vodafone rolling monthly contract.
As a guide, I used to be on 8GB/month and now I go through that in about 3 weeks. It also allows me to tether which is very useful.
£35 a month PAYG with 3, unlimited data including tethering is a great deal.
I spend days away climbing then chilling in my camper so tethering is a must.
If you're a climber then tethering is a must!
