"Another of the oddities about this system is the use of the 'Promontory B550A' chipset-based motherboard.... they skip PCIe 4.0 support and the stringent signal path standards boards like the X570 adhere to. Furthermore, B550 is likely to be an ASMedia design, rather than coming out of AMD."
Damn... I was hoping that there might be a lower tiered mobo selection coming, and that it would have PCIe 4.0. :-/

AMD low to mid range gpu's have always been a favourite of mine - and with 3 Display Ports and an HDMI you're looking at good potential. 4gb GDDR5 isn't too shabby either.

4GB is rather painful if you have 32 bit Windows :D
Could do with an option which is cheap enough to use on small AM4 server builds. The cheap Geforce 710 cards are getting rather old now even for Linux support.

Without PCIe 4, why buy B550 over B450?

It used to be that HP liked numbers to go up every year. I think they have been responsible for a few rebrands over the years, they clearly have some clout at AMD for getting oddball products for their low end systems.
