This was featured in a TV programme a couple of weeks back.

They showcased it, melting a few DJI Phantoms in mid flight.

Basically we're heading into the Combat Wasp vision of battle that Peter F Hamilton came up with in his Nights Dawn trilogy 20+ years ago, which just shows sci fi is cleverer than outsiders think ;)
