Re: Corsair launches its T3 Rush fabric gaming chair

It's about time someone released a "gaming chair" that won't look overly out of place in a living room or a modern, minimalist bedroom.

Re: Corsair launches its T3 Rush fabric gaming chair

It's a shame they have gone for fabric this time around. Their last chair was fairly well regarded before they pulled it (at least, as far as "racing" chairs go), and i was considering something similar this time around...but I hate fabric chairs, especially at this sort of price.

Shame really, hopefully they will put out a PU and maybe even real leather version too.

Re: Corsair launches its T3 Rush fabric gaming chair

It's a gaming chair. It looks like every other gaming chair... and every second seat in a Kevved up hot hatch car.

I've always found far better results from just picking a good, solid office chair designed for 24hr use. It has a far wider and better range of adjustability, vastly superior support, and is built to take far more use and abuse, often costing less than these gaming ones... I've also tried the gaming ones my friends have and remain wholly unimpressed.

4D adjustable armrests? So they are capable of time travel?

Re: Corsair launches its T3 Rush fabric gaming chair

Apart from looking like they've been torn out of a car, I'm not sure what makes gaming chairs worth the premium over entry-level operator chairs. Just seems like more "gaming" bandwagon.

I pine for an Aeron, but that's silly money.

It depends on how you like to sit and how long you are playing for.

Absolutely, if you just want a simple chair you can sit upright in for hours on end..then a good task chair (e.g. a 999 operators chair) is perfect. Comfortable, durable and will last....all for around £100 for a good used one or a cheap new one.

Problem is, they are not great for slouching in, or for sprawling across, or for almost lying down in, or whatever other contorted shape you want to be in...and for a good task chair that lets you do that (like an adjustable herman miller) you are looking at £800+ for new, and not far off that used. Most of those are fabric only too, which personally I don't really like.

I quite like "gaming" chairs for their flexibility. Mine at the moment is only a relatively cheap one from amazon (a DX Racer copy) and its very adjustable - arms up/down/in/out, back can lock at any angle and can go flat, built in foot rest/stool, lumbar support etc.....to me it looks silly, BUT its comfy and adjusts to suit how I want to sit, and is great even after 5-6 hours. It needs replacing as the gas lift has gone (its still a cheap chair!) but it has lasted as long as any other cheap (sub £200) office chair i've ever bought.

Why do gaming chairs have holes in the back? Have I missed something or is it just a design thing?

I sit on an inflatable gym ball. I have abs of steel! Also fall off sometimes when driving round tight bends in 'Generic Racer 2020'.

I bought an Aeron last year, after receiving a goodly PPI payout. It was expensive but, it is supremely comfortable, has a 12 year warranty and good used ones are readily available, as are spare parts.

Re: Corsair launches its T3 Rush fabric gaming chair

Premium office chairs like Aeron are often massively discounted second hand, from places that do office clearances, and perhaps some on eBay. Admittedly buying second hand chairs is a bit gross but you could go through 3 different second hand ones for the price of one new one. And if you work in an actual office then at some point you're already probably sitting on some second hand chair that other people sat on anyways....

As Steve from GN pointed out, this is exactly the same chair, from the same factory as all the other gaming chairs.

    Sigh!

Re: Corsair launches its T3 Rush fabric gaming chair

lets break this down a little

"immensely durable solid steel frame" - for fat gits

"retain minimal heat for cool and comfortable gaming all day and night". - for sweaty fat gits

€279 - rich sweaty fat gits

In all seriousness, having had leather and fabric - I prefer leather, but i have serious psoriatic issues so i prefer the leather (gets very sweaty in the heat) to the inevitably stained fabric from blood and ointments - (itchy sweaty git )

With all that said, I don't see what makes this a gaming chair. I was under the impression gaming chairs would have built in vibration (for feedback, get your minds out the gutter) or speakers. This just looks like an office chair, albeit one you can recline to the horizontal in case your tv is on the ceiling...

Still, it is nice to see a company look beyond hardware and peripherals as to what gamers actually need, now if i could only get a chair with an inbuilt back scratching mechanism
We're only here for the Banter - The Luvvies - Chewin' The Fat

Violence and Lubrication is the solution to fixing everything, if it still doesn't work, you need more lubrication.
