… Perhaps the big blank where these cards should reside (and the competitor GTX 1660 variants) is shortly to be filled by a new Navi offering(s) and AMD can't mention it right now as these products are yet to be announced. …
Are you suggesting that there might be a graphics card released into the product stack that sits between the RX 5500 and the RX 5700? But what would it be called? How could they fit a product into the stack there?! It just makes no sense ;)
Re: AMD Radeon RX 5500 slides: an insight into new Radeon lineup
Radeon 5600 series?!
But I really want to see Radeon 5800 and/or 5900 series

Surely not. 5600 just sounds plain stupid. Five followed by a six? Like how children count? It's just pedestrian.
Clearly, scaryjim was imlpying that AMD would release the 5570 and 5590 at some point in the future. :)

Maybe AMD will take a leaf out of Nvidias book and call those middle cards the RX4060, RX4060ti, RX4060 SUPER and the RX4060 SUPERti?

Not sure if that was sarcasm ( :-) ) or you actually think that. Anyways...
Well, if you check their existing 5700 series, there are 5700 and 5700 XT, not 5750 and 5770 so, that was why I mentionned 5600 series.
Re: AMD Radeon RX 5500 slides: an insight into new Radeon lineup
Is Radeon VII still relevant ? I mean it's not being sold right ?

I think it was to AMD who I expect had a warehouse full of chips they needed to be rid of :)

You're a bit late to the party - AMD released the 5570 nearly 10 years ago!
Here's the Hexus review from Feb 2010.

That's the problem with fabbing chunky chips on a bleeding edge node, lots of defective dies that wouldn't pass muster for the enterprise crowd.

It might be that, but from the timing I wonder if a proportion of their expected sales went to Nvidia who launched consumer cards with AI support that might have been good enough for many. Either way, Vega 7 was an odd enough product that it felt like a fire sale of parts.

but clearly you're all wrong: the space will be filled with the 5500 XT and 5700 LE. Only sensible option IMNSHO ;)
Re: AMD Radeon RX 5500 slides: an insight into new Radeon lineup
The 5500 Super XT Ti Titan
that ought to do it and beat a 1660, easy!
