Yeh that was my first thought. It's a bad time to be Intel at the moment. I suspect the underhand tactics of old are going to make a comeback soon.

Re: Intel and MediaTek partner to bring 5G to PCs

All I want to know is, when will I be able to buy a 5G ready phone for less than £300...because £300 is my absolute limit to spend on a phone.

So Athena (iirc that is Intel's upcoming new laptop/ultralight scheme like Centrino was) will have 5G and wifi6 probably then? possibly in one package that would make sense.
