Well, that's what happen when you put all your eggs in one basket.
Instead of lowering their forecast they should increase it and cover the Intel shortage with more AMD products.
Problems was written on the wall for Intel the day AMD released Ryzen in 2017, Dell stuck their head in the sand listening to Intel's repeat bullrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish excuses that they where fixing the problem next quarter over and over again not knowing Intel had nothing for years to come and was only bullrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishting them not to start selling AMD.
Well now they are paying the price for their ignorance.
Hopefully this bad press will ripple through the industry and consumers will benefit from a lot more Ryzen / ThreadRipper options... especially when Zen 2 makes the jump to laptop/notebook/tablet devices.
You would have hoped that after Intel's infamous comment that Dell were the "Best friend money can buy" that Dell would have taken better steps against this.
Still, I'm sure the back handers will continue, and Intel will stay able to afford any subsidies through streamlining their business if the rumour of 12000 employees about to get laid off are accurate. Good job, bonuses all round I say.
Did HP not say a while back that chip shortages from Intel was hurting them.
I do hope AMD get a good percentage of the market in these trying times.

Good , although once upon a time Dell gave the best quality control in the business , every pc checked out wether you ordered one or a hundred. Seem to remember Dell was on the list of companies that Intel threatened to short supply if they ventured to use AMD chips, typical Intel shady business practise. I'm not a dedicated fan boy of any brand of chip but have favoured AMD down the years basically for value sake , anyway, support the underdog , competition is good for us mere mortals. Back in 286-386 days I used all makes as you had several choices back then even with using the same motherboard. Not sure what Intel are going to do now , they must feel like a cornered tiger , no doubt somewhere along the line they'll come up with something especially with the amount of funds for R&D they have as opposed to AMD.
Still , for as long as it lasts good on AMD for what they have achieved this time round , good wake up call to Intel , they got complacent.
Is this going to push the pricing up due to demand/supply issues or just a lack of stock?
